The Liberal Media Does Not Have a Double Standard

Rush Limbaugh called a woman a slut, and his advertisers pulled their support of his show. According to Fox news this displays the left’s “double standard” as Maher donated $1,000,000 to Obama’s campaign. It seems, however, that the liberal media is actually more concerned with controversial comments than Fox is.

When analyzing this situation one must remember that Maher was actually FIRED from ABC news after making “controversial” statements about 9/11. He now works for HBO which is not a hard news station that Fox is supposed to be.

Let us now look at Rush’s situation. A women who felt that if men received Viagra from the government, women should have the right to birth-control. He called this woman a slut, just like the 98% of Catholic women who use birth-control must be to him. Did Fox fire him? No.

So, which station is actually bias?

  1. Indeed. And let’s not forget- while Limbaugh only “apologized” for those two words- his verbal assault, which continued for two days after the remarks, including telling her that she should videotape herself having sex and send it in for everyone to watch.

And while I don’t have access to the fully indexed collection of everything said on TV that the rights power machine has- here are just a few distrubing comments from Glen Beck aired on Fox.

Beck on Hillary Clinton: “She’s the stereotypical bitch.”
Beck: “[I]f you’re an ugly woman, you’re probably a progressive as well.
Beck to female guest: “I’ve got some time and a camera. Why don’t you stop by?” Discussing the issue of racy photos of an american idol contestant)
Beck to colleague Erica Hill): “You are looking hot in leather”Beck went on to tell Hill, “I’m wearing leather pants right now” and “Oh, no, I’m not wearing pants.
“Beck on Gloria Steinem: “You self-centered, self-righteous, socialist, out-of-control, dangerous, man-hating bitch.
Beck: Rep. Kucinich’s wife might be under influence of “date rape drug” After calling Rep. Dennis Kucinich “Gollum,”

Not to mention we have to PAY for HBO. Also, its such a shame that this has turned into another “left vs right” issue, instead of placing the focus where it should be: on Rush’s vile statements about women.

lol, you need to check your facts before you go out and start drawing conclusions about people and organizations. Rush is not on the payroll of Fox News, never was, never will be. He is on the radio, not television.

I don’t believe Rush has made any vile statements about women. The idea that conservatives hate woman is a facade and just a new tactic used by our beloved president to rile up his voting block for reelection. But I think the true issue at hand here is whether or not we can have a intellectual discussion without resorting to shouting obscenities at each other like bunch of children.

Thanks for letting me know, I used to listen to him a few years back. I am a libertarian now, so I am not necessarily anti-republican, but he is on Fox’s radio station, at least in Wisconsin.
